The Bid Whist install file is available on the front page. Clicking the "Windows" link should save it to your computer. If your browser or operating system does not pop-up an option to "Run" the saved file, find it in your Downloads folder. Clicking the file should start installation. Follow the prompts to complete the process.

These instructions provide more detailed guidance for downloading and installing the JavaWebStart software required to run Bid Whist Challenge. We assume that you are using Internet Explorer 6.0 for your browser and Windows XP Home as your operating system. This is the most common and many service providers such as AOL and Yahoo/SBC using variations of this browser so it should be close. Some screens may very slightly or substantially depending upon your specific browser release, operating system and installed service pack. We make some effort to reflect some known changes such as those with Service Pack 2, however, the user is responsible for finding out the best way for their system because of all of the potential variations.

First you must download the file to install JavaWebStart. JavaWebStart is a program that makes starting Bid Whist Online easy. Click here to start download.
You will get a screen like the one below.

If you have a high speed or broadband connection such as a cable modem or DSL, we recommend installing the program directly. If you have a slower connection like dialup, we recommend that you save the file first. You may try either method.

If you have a broadband connection (cable modem or DSL), then click Run, and go to Installation Instructions

If you use dialup, click Save. You should get a screen like this one:
Select where you want to save the file. Most user select either My Documents or Desktop (see icons for these locations on the far left).
Click Save. (Note it is very important to remember where you saved the file)

It will take 10 - 15 minutes on a typical dialup connection. If you have a cable modem, it should take less than a minute. For DSL users it may take 1 - 2 mintues. The screen shows you how the file is progressing.

Finally you will get a screen saying that download is complete.

Click Run to begin installation.
