Introduction
These instructions provide more detailed guidance for downloading and installing the JavaWebStart
software required to run Bid Whist Challenge. We assume that you are using Internet Explorer 6.0
for your browser and Windows XP Home as your operating system. This is the most common and many service providers such as AOL and Yahoo/SBC
using variations of this browser so it should be close. Some screens may very slightly or
substantially depending upon your specific browser release, operating system and installed service pack.
We make some effort to reflect some known changes such as those with Service Pack 2, however, the user
is responsible for finding out the best way for their system because of all of the potential variations.
Download Instructions
First you must download the file to install JavaWebStart. JavaWebStart is a program

If you have a broadband connection (cable modem or DSL), then click Run, and go to Installation Instructions
If you use dialup, click Save.
You should get a screen like this one:
Select where you want to save the file. Most user select either My Documents or Desktop (see icons for these locations on the far left).
Click Save. (Note it is very important to remember where you saved the file)
It will take 10 - 15 minutes on a typical dialup connection.
If you have a cable modem, it should take less than a minute.
For DSL users it may take 1 - 2 mintues. The screen shows you how the file is progressing.
Finally you will get a screen saying that download is complete.
